IAFP 2009 to be Held in Grapevine, Texas

Des Moines, Iowa (February 11, 2009) The International Association for Food Protection will hold IAFP 2009, the 96th Annual Meeting, July 12-15 in Grapevine, Texas at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center. The meeting has earned recognition as the leading food safety conference. Registration is now open via the Association Web site, www.foodprotection.org. The preliminary program will be available in March 2009.
To provide food safety professionals worldwide with a forum to exchange information on protecting the food supply, IAFP 2009 will feature approximately 30 symposia, 75 technical sessions and more than 300 poster presentations. During the four-day meeting, the conference will include a business meeting, committee meetings, educational exhibits, an awards banquet, and a number of social events. Three pre-meeting workshops will also be presented.
Issues regarding food defense, noroviruses, prepared but not Ready-to-Eat foods, test detection methods, emerging food trends, global food safety, and investigation of outbreaks are just a few of the challenges that will be discussed throughout the educational sessions.
