IAFP Student Travel Scholarship Program
The International Association for Food Protection recognizes that students from around the world are the future leaders in the field of food safety. Since 2004, the IAFP Foundation has been dedicated to enhancing the career potential of exceptional students through the annual IAFP Student Travel Scholarship Program, which provides full funding for attendance at the Association’s renowned Annual Meeting.
For the 2012 program year, it is our pleasure to support the travel of a minimum of eight qualified students to attend IAFP 2012, to be held July 22–25 in Providence, Rhode Island. Through generous contributions to the IAFP Foundation, scholarships will be awarded to one student from a developing country, three students from outside North America, two students from North America, and two additional students at the option of the selection committee.
Applications will be accepted through February 28, 2012, from IAFP Student Members who are enrolled full-time in a graduate or undergraduate program related to food safety. Past scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply. The application and criteria are available below. Applicants are advised to read the form and criteria carefully to ensure that required documents from outside sources are received at the IAFP office no later than the February 28 deadline. Notification of the selection committee’s decision will be communicated to all applicants by April 2, and scholarship recipients will be formally recognized at the Opening Session of IAFP 2012 on July 22.
Dedicated students are encouraged to apply for this unique opportunity. Please send inquiries about the program to scholarship@foodprotection.org, or contact Executive Director David Tharp at +1 515.276.3344 or +1 800.369.6337.
