1910's

The 1910s saw world-wide unrest and change. Technology was on the cusp of a revolution with the invention of phones, planes and autos, while life-changing industries were created. WWI began in August 1914, lasting much of the decade. A 1918 worldwide flu epidemic claimed millions of lives. In 1911, a group of men engaged in advocating improved cleanliness in milk production banded together and formed a new organization called the "International Association of Dairy and Milk Inspectors". After several name changes, it became the "International Association for Food Protection" in 2000.
